University education in Vienna
Let's find the right academic path for your profile.
Bachelor's degree, recognition of previous coursework, or master's: we match your academic background to the current requirements of programmes.
Application types
Different education backgrounds, personalised paths.
For each application, diplomas, transcripts, course content, exam results and language certificates are evaluated on a per-programme basis.
Course recognition
You are first admitted to the programme; a recognition request is then made based on course content, ECTS and academic fit.
Master's degree
Your bachelor's field, course distribution, credit load and the programme's language requirement are matched for academic fit.
Language and preparation
Even if your German isn't yet C1, there can be a path.
Starting regular classes in a German-taught bachelor's programme generally requires C1. Depending on the admission decision, the VWU preparatory programme and supplementary exams may come into play; the minimum level accepted for initial application is checked per university.
