Accommodation consulting

Start your housing search with the right criteria.

Universities in Vienna do not automatically assign dormitory places. We assess dormitory, shared flat (WG) and private apartment options together, along with transport, contract length, deposit and monthly budget.

Dormitory & WG

Comparing the application period, room type, rent coverage and commute to campus.

First registrations

Checklist for Meldezettel, health insurance and other mandatory first steps in the city.

Transport

Get around the city with a single pass.

For those under 26, the Wiener Linien annual pass—valid on all public transport within Vienna—is priced at €294 as a one-time payment from 1 February 2026. You may instead pay for the annual pass in 12 equal instalments of €25.75 (bringing the annual total to €309).

Health insurance

A core part of the residence permit process.

For eligible students, ÖGK student self-insurance costs €78.84 per month in 2026. Personal eligibility should be checked separately.
